Modifying the Certificate Type using the Communication Security Expander
You modified the default Stand-alone Client/Server communication mode so that it is set to Secured, and the options for Certificate type are enabled.
1.
From the Communication Security expander of the Project Settings, select either of the following Certificate type:

Windows Store (default)
-
File (.pem) based
Depending on the selected certificate type, the following fields get added.
For Windows store certificate type, the default set root and host certificates display.
For file (.pem) based certificate type, the Host key field in addition to the Root certificate and Host certificate fields displays.

If you select the Windows store option, do the following. Otherwise, proceed with Step 3.

Click Browse for the root/host certificate to open the Select Certificate dialog box.

In the Select Certificate dialog box, proceed as follows:
a. Select a Store location either Local machine certificates or User certificates.
b. Select a certificate from the list of available certificates.
c. Click OK. It is recommended to verify the certificate details using Preview.
NOTE 1: You must first create the certificates and then import them in the appropriate Windows store, to get them listed in the Select Certificate dialog box.
NOTE 2: The host certificate selected must be created using the root certificate provided in the Root certificate field.
NOTE 3: The host certificate must have a private key and it must be exportable.

Click Save  Save icon.

If you select the File (.pem) based option, do the following:

Click Browse for the root/host certificate to open the Windows Open dialog box.

Locate and select the root certificate from the disk.

Locate and select the host certificate from the disk. The selected host certificate must have a private key and it must be exportable.

Locate and select the host certificate key from the disk.

Click Save  Save icon.
