Share the Project folder, Configure Security and Set Permissions using Windows
The project folder is created on the server using the SMC.
You have a list of users who are going to run Desigo CC on a client or web client on the remote computer.
1.
On the Desigo CC server, in Windows Explorer, navigate to the GMSProjects\[project name] folder.

Right-click the project name folder, and select Properties.
The [project name] Properties dialog box displays.

In the Sharing tab, in the Network File and Folder Sharing section, click Share.
The File Sharing dialog box displays.

In the File Sharing dialog box, enter the user name and click Add.
The user name displays in the list of users with the Permission Level set to Read by default.

Select the user name, and in the pop-up menu, select Read/Write.
6.
Repeat Steps 4 through 5 to add any other users.
7.
Click Share.
The shared folder displays in the File Sharing dialog box.
8.
Click Done.
9.
In the [project name] Properties dialog box, click the Security tab.
10.
In the Security tab, under the Group or user names list, click Edit.
The Permissions for [user name] dialog box displays.
11.
In the Permissions for [user name] dialog box, in the Group or user names list, select the user that you added in Step 4.
12.
In the Permissions for [selected user] section, ensure that only the following permissions have Allowed checked:

Read & execute

List folder contents
-
Read
NOTE: If you are installing the Desigo CC Web Server, ensure that the account associated with the user who will be installing it is given Full control.

Do one of the following:

If you have no additional users for which to configure permissions: Click OK.

If you have additional users for which to configure permissions: Click Apply. Repeat Steps 11 through 12 for each additional user. When done, click OK.
14.
Click Close.
The project folder is shared with the appropriate security settings configured.
Tips
Do not give any inherit permission to the shared project folder or to the parent folder of the project folder (the GMSProjects folder). This may lead to failure in starting the web client since it is difficult to predict how Windows OS will behave in different versions for inherited permission of the shared folders.
Ensure that the rights are configured and restricted in the folders, and not on the file share. A Windows user who has Write permissions to a project when logged on to the server (for example, a member of the local Administrators group) also has Write permissions to this folder when accessing it using a file share.
