Linking or Modifying an HDB after Creating or Restoring a Project
You can also link an HDB after you have created, started, stopped, or restored a project. You may also modify an HDB and link another HDB. You cannot work with HDB on a client/FEP machine.
An HDB is created and started.
A project is created/restored and available under Projects in the SMC tree.
1.
In the SMC tree, select Projects > [Project].
The Project Settings tab displays details of the selected project.
2.
In the Project Settings tab, open the History Database Connection expander.
3.
Do the following:
a. From the History Database drop-down list, select the HDB.
NOTE: By default, the History Database drop-down list displays the HDB linked to the selected backed-up project for restore.
b. In the Project Settings toolbar, click Save  Save icon.
A confirmation message displays if the HDB you are about to link to the project is already linked to another project.
4.
Click Yes.
A message displays if the linked HDB’s system name does not match with the associated project’s system name. Click Yes to modify the linked history database’s system name.
If you click No, the Linked HDB state displays as System name mismatch with the project (in red). It is indicated in red because the linked HDB is already containing data of the previously connteced Project having different system name.
The Linked HDB state is updated to Connected, system name of the HDB is updated internally, and the selected HDB gets linked to the selected project.
