Installing Internet Information Services (IIS) on Different Operating Systems

In order to use the web and Windows App clients, you must install the Internet Information Services (IIS).
It is recommended that you install the IIS before proceeding with the installing the setup type—server, client, or FEP. After IIS is installed, the Installer installs Microsoft Application Request Routing (ARR); this is required for working with the web server. You can then use web and Windows App clients by browsing a Web Application in IE 11 created using SMC. In the absence of IIS, you can still proceed with installation, however, the AAR does not install. In this case, you must either cancel the current installation, install IIS, and restart this procedure, or complete the current installation, install IIS and then rerun the installer to install ARR.
When IIS is installed, a default website is created with a default port number of 80.
NOTICE
Removing Default Website Before Server Installation
It is recommended that you remove the default website from IIS before installing the server. If you do not delete this website, or if another site is already using port 80, then you must assign a different port number for the Desigo CC website you created using SMC. Using SMC, you cannot delete this default website or any other website created outside SMC.
Depending on the Windows operating system type, the IIS installation steps vary as described in the following sections:
Installing IIS on Windows 7 and Windows 10
Installing IIS on Windows Server 2012 R2

Installing IIS on Windows Server 2016

NOTE:
You can run the web client and Windows App client on the IPv6 network enabled system. However, you must ensure that the system where the web server is installed has the dual stack (both IPV4 & IPV6) network enabled.
For more information on how to enable the dual stack (both IPV4 and IPV6) network on the web server, see Running Web/Windows App Clients on IPv6 Systems.
